It’s party time again! On October 13, 2016 we’ll be heading
over to The Stave Room at American Spirit Works from
6:00 to 9:00 PM for the 3rd Annual Orvis Down the Hatch Fly Fishing Festival. We are thrilled to be partnering with our friends at Orvis and SweetWater Brewing Company again for this night of fresh
films, cool swag and giveaways, food trucks, and heady brews.
The night will start with the Quality Hooch Pre-Party where guests can enjoy food trucks, free beer courtesy of SweetWater, raffles, and a variety of vendors, fly shops and outfitters who will be showcasing their goods. Interested in the latest Jackson Kayak? Or perhaps checking out one of the SweetWater branded Orion coolers? Then this is definitely the scene for you! Come mingle with CRK, the good folks at Orvis, fly fisherman, and other outdoor enthusiasts who are committed to a forever clean and sustainable Chattahoochee River.
A portion of the proceeds from the night’s festivities will benefit CRK and the Quality Hooch campaign. Help us make this night one to remember by purchasing your tickets today!
The film festival will begin around 7PM. Seats are limited, so get there early or else it’s standing room only for the night! We’re showing the best fishing films from around the world to get you revved up and ready for the fall. We are also excited to be premiering the Quality Hooch film, which showcases the importance of the Chattahoochee River as a vital natural resource and the work that CRK is doing to protect it. You might even catch a glimpse of some pretty big fish (wink wink)!
And don’t forget the raffles! But when we say raffle, we don’t mean just tee shirts and ball caps (though there will be those too). We came to PLAY.
Prizes will include sweet new Orvis equipment, awesome gear from our Down the Hatch friends and the grand prize—a custom Helios 2 Fly Rod. And who could forget all the swag to pillage and share? Entry for the raffle is included in your ticket price, so kick back and enjoy the show—but be ready to sit on the edge of your seat come raffle time.
In spring of 2016, The Orvis Company, Sweetwater Brewing Company, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, and fly-fishing guide service River Through Atlanta, decided to combine their efforts with the “Quality Hooch” campaign to fund water quality monitoring in the Chattahoochee River. To date, we have raised nearly $10,000. This campaign will help fund a revolutionary water monitoring system, developed by global communications company Ericsson, to allow Chattahoochee Riverkeeper to continue and expand its work in protecting the Chattahoochee River. The goal is to install 50 of these monitors in strategic locations in the river and its tributaries.
