UU.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.sam.usace.army.mil\/Missions\/CivilWorks\/Recreation\/LakeSidneyLanier.aspx\">Presa Buford del lago Lanier<\/a>. El lago Lanier se encuentra dentro de las cabeceras de Chattahoochee, justo al norte de Atlanta.<\/p>\n<p>El 11 de diciembre de 2019 y en el episodio m\u00e1s reciente de &quot;guerras del agua&quot;, un maestro especial emiti\u00f3 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ca10.uscourts.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/SM142\/670.pdf\">una recomendaci\u00f3n<\/a> a la Corte Suprema de EE.UU. en el <em>Florida contra Georgia<\/em> Caso legal. En t\u00e9rminos sencillos, la recomendaci\u00f3n dice que la corte deber\u00eda descartar la \u00faltima andanada de Florida. En t\u00e9rminos legales, Florida no present\u00f3 un argumento legal convincente y no proporcion\u00f3 pruebas suficientes de que Georgia usa demasiada agua o que cualquier da\u00f1o a la poblaci\u00f3n de ostras de Florida podr\u00eda atribuirse al uso de agua en Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Que el Magistrado Especial se haya puesto tan del lado de Georgia es m\u00e1s un indicativo de las fallas de Florida en presentar un s\u00f3lido respaldo cient\u00edfico para sus argumentos que una se\u00f1al de que la evidencia de Georgia era 100% precisa o infalible. A pesar de su recomendaci\u00f3n, el Magistrado Especial reconoci\u00f3 que los flujos bajos y el aumento de la salinidad parec\u00edan afectar negativamente a las ostras de Florida, pero estas condiciones por s\u00ed solas no fueron responsables del colapso de las pesquer\u00edas.<\/p>\n<p>No se puede negar que la recomendaci\u00f3n del Magistrado Especial coloca a Georgia en una s\u00f3lida posici\u00f3n legal para justificar su uso actual del agua del r\u00edo Chattahoochee en el \u00e1rea metropolitana de Atlanta y las extracciones agr\u00edcolas en la cuenca del r\u00edo Flint. Si el tribunal acepta esta recomendaci\u00f3n, la principal preocupaci\u00f3n de CRK es que los l\u00edderes de Georgia dejen de pensar que necesitan avanzar en la conservaci\u00f3n y eficiencia del agua en los sectores municipal, industrial y agr\u00edcola. Georgia todav\u00eda tiene espacio para mejorar la forma en que monitorea el uso y consumo de agua; y Georgia debe seguir siendo el l\u00edder en este espacio para proteger la cantidad y calidad del agua en toda la cuenca ACF.<\/p>\n<p>Debemos cesar las interminables rondas de litigios y, en cambio, concentrar nuestros recursos en compartir nuestra agua porque el cambio clim\u00e1tico es real, las comunidades seguir\u00e1n creciendo y nuestro suministro de agua limpia es limitado.<\/p>\n<p>Independientemente del resultado del juicio, los georgianos tienen la responsabilidad de conservar el agua.
