MLK Day of Service Cleanup

MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a National Day of Service to encourage all Americans to volunteer to improve their communities. In partnership with Georgia ForestWatch, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is hosting this cleanup to continue our efforts toward a Trash-Free Chattahoochee on Monday, January 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The location for the cleanup will be in the West Atlanta area on a tributary to the river. The exact address will be provided to registered volunteers a few days prior to the event. Why? Because rain events move the trash and we want to pick a location that needs our attention the most. Gloves and cleanup supplies provided.

Will I get dirty and potentially wet? YES!
Whether land based or paddling, all our cleanups involve getting in or around the river or a tributary – this is where the trash is. But there are opportunities to stay dry. Either way, we promise you’ll have fun!
