Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

Whether you’re knee-deep in a creek removing trash, bringing weekly water samples to our laboratory, or helping spread CRK’s mission at an outreach event, there are plenty of opportunities to give back to the Chattahoochee. Read more below and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Gorjeo, y TikTok for more specific volunteer needs.

Trash Removal

Trash cleanups occur throughout the year all over the watershed. Volunteer your time and help work toward a Trash-Free Chattahoochee! Our waterways provide us with fresh drinking water and fun opportunities like rafting, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Join our work to protect this precious resource by volunteering to help clean our rivers, streams, lakes, and wetlands.

Age range: minimum 10 years of age. All volunteers under age 18 must have parent/guardian supervision onsite at cleanup events.

Events and Outreach

Help spread CRK’s mission by becoming an outreach volunteer. Our staff and volunteers attend festivals and community events throughout the year to raise awareness for water protection, educate the public about our work, and raise funds to support our programs. We’re looking for outgoing individuals who are excited to share their love for the river with others.

Age range: minimum 16 years of age. Volunteers must have reliable transportation.

Vigilancia del Agua del Vecindario

Neighborhood Water Watch is a collaborative program between CRK and neighborhood groups, schools, and people in our watershed. The goal is to work together to assess and improve water quality in urban streams, while protecting human health in neighboring communities. Volunteers are trained and equipped to collect water samples and deliver them to a laboratory or drop spot on a weekly basis. The samples are used to test for bacteria that indicate threats to our water supply.

Volunteers are asked to commit to sampling on a regular basis. Learn more about Neighborhood Water Watch aquí.
