Clean up a creek and clean out your fridge!
“Opt Outside” of the Black Friday shopping frenzy and join CRK for our post-Thanksgiving cleanup. Initiated by REI, the #OptOutside movement is an annual tradition designed to encourage people to appreciate the value of time spent outdoors. By participating in this land-based cleanup, you will help CRK in our efforts to achieve a Trash-Free Chattahoochee. So far in 2024, we have already removed over 52 TONS of trash from our watershed.
As a fun twist, please bring a leftover holiday dish from home (optional) and we’ll share a little post-cleanup fellowship!
The exact cleanup address will be provided to registered volunteers a few days prior to the event. Why? Because rain events move the trash and we want to pick a location that needs our attention the most. Gloves and cleanup supplies provided.
Will I get dirty and potentially wet? YES!
Whether land based or paddling, all our cleanups involve getting in or around the river or a tributary – this is where the trash is. But there are opportunities to stay dry. Either way, we promise you’ll have fun!
NOTE: This cleanup event has reached capacity. Please contact [email protected] to be added to the waitlist.
