West Point Lake Outings Announced; New LaGrange Lab and Valley Rally May 5!

We have a full lineup of outings on West Point Lake this year and hope you’ll join us!

The Wildlife Cruise on Saturday, March 31^{S t} will be sure to delight as osprey take to the sky and our friends with the Department of Natural Resources talk about the diverse fish population of the lake. Looking further ahead, we’ll be hosting a fishing workshop led by Ken Bearden on April 22, followed by live music cruises this summer and a history and storytelling cruise later in the fall.

Lab Upgrade & River Rendezvous

Thanks to the support of our members and donors, the water monitoring lab in our LaGrange office got an upgrade! Come by for a visit and to learn more about how CRK is empowering everyone to bring attention to neglected urban waterways. Help us to protect your neighborhood creeks and the drinking water source for most of us: the Chattahoochee River.

Also, consider joining us for River Rendezvous on Saturday, March 10 at LaGrange College. It’s an opportunity to meet CRK staff, volunteers and friends and learn about water monitoring. We’ll partner you up with friends – new or old! – give you supplies, and you’re off to a pre-selected location to collect a water sample. Return for the sample to be processed and enjoy the satisfaction of having helped keep watch over our waters.

Chattahoochee Valley River Rally – May 5^el

On Saturday, May 5, CRK will host the Chattahoochee Valley River Rally (Valley Rally for short)! The Valley Rally will launch from Hardley Creek Park at 5pm for a 3-mile, family friendly paddle and culminate in a music festival at the City of West Point Downtown River Park. There will be live music from Jontavious Willis, local food vendors and more!
