Let’s Chatt: Atlanta Fish Kill

Recorded on June 4, 2026. Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is investigating a fish kill that occurred on the river downstream of Peachtree Creek on May 22. Thousands of fish suffocated when a hypoxic flood rapidly depleted dissolved oxygen levels in the water. Drought conditions on the river, highly localized flash flooding, polluted runoff, and sewage overflows all contributed to this event. As we continue monitoring conditions on the river, CRK hosted a free informational webinar and Q&A session June 4. The presentation slides can be found aquí.
