Event Details
Help us monitor the health of the Chattahoochee River Basin! Come out with friends, family, or on your own to collect water samples from creeks and tributaries in the Columbus area. Your participation will help provide a snapshot of water quality in the Middle Chattahoochee region.
No previous monitoring experience is necessary! We’ll provide instructions on how to collect water samples before splitting into teams to collect samples from nearby sites. After visiting your site, return to the starting point to deliver your sample and enjoy a complimentary lunch while our staff and interns analyze water samples.
Most sample sites are accessible by a short drive and/or walk from our starting point, but volunteers will need to be comfortable navigating to and accessing stream-side sample sites. This event will take place rain or shine from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, so please dress accordingly.
Free to attend, but registration is required. Children ages 10+ are welcome to attend with a guardian present. Please keep your pets at home for this event.
