Water Warriors Wander + Wonder

Discover all the wonders of the Chattahoochee River! Created for 4th through 6th graders, the Water Warriors Wander + Wonder will encompass a science program with Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, a birding hike with Georgia Audubon, and a paddling experience with Paddle4Tomorrow.

Atlanta Cleanup

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper is hosting this cleanup to continue our efforts toward a Trash-Free Chattahoochee on Saturday, September 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The general location for the cleanup will be in West Atlanta on Proctor Creek just a 1/2 mile before it enters the Chattahoochee River, close to Bolton Road and James Jackson Pkwy.

National Public Lands Day Cleanup

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is celebrating National Public Lands Day by hosting a cleanup along the shoreline of West Point Lake on Saturday, September 24. Along with other groups, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will lead a team of volunteers that morning from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We’ll meet at Holiday Campground for check-in at 8:30 a.m., then CRK volunteers will board the West Point Lake Floating Classroom and take a boat ride to one of the parks on the lake that need the most help. Expect to spend two hours collecting trash from the shoreline of the lake before returning to Holiday Campground where lunch will be provided by the Corps.

Paddle Cleanup (Atlanta)

Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Root Local are teaming up to host this 11-mile paddle trip through a part of the river not accessible to most. Join us as we experience firsthand efforts to improve water quality in the river downstream of Atlanta as we paddle from Riverview Landing in Smyrna to the Highway 166 Bridge off Campbellton Road. The scenic trip will also include a stop at Buzzard Roost for lunch and a beach cleanup.
