Join Chattahoochee Riverkeeper on Saturday, June 21 for a guided paddle on the Chattahoochee River as it flows from Moore’s Bridge Park to McIntosh Reserve Park. This day outing will cover approximately seven river miles and include mostly flat water with occasional class 1 and 2 shoals. $30 fee per person to participate.
The area we’ll be paddling and the rest of the Chattahoochee downstream of Atlanta is dramatically cleaner than it was when CRK first stood up to protect the river nearly three decades ago. Once severely polluted, the stretch of river from Atlanta’s wastewater discharge at Peachtree Creek down to West Point Lake has rebounded significantly and riverside communities have taken note, especially in Carroll County where both parks are located.
We’ll meet on June 21 at 8:30am at Moore’s Bridge Park to unload boats, then drive and park our vehicles at McIntosh Reserve Park followed by a shuttle back to Moore’s Bridge Park. We anticipate finishing the paddle between 1:00pm – 3:00pm.
