National Public Lands Day Cleanup

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is celebrating National Public Lands Day by hosting a cleanup along the shoreline of West Point Lake on Saturday, September 24. Along with other groups, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will lead a team of volunteers that morning from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

We’ll meet at Holiday Campground for check-in at 8:30 a.m., then CRK volunteers will board the West Point Lake Floating Classroom and take a boat ride to one of the parks on the lake that need the most help. Expect to spend two hours collecting trash from the shoreline of the lake before returning to Holiday Campground where lunch will be provided by the Corps.

West Point Lake Ghost Storytelling Cruise

Climb aboard the West Point Lake Floating Classroom for a family-friendly cruise that will feature ghostly tales by acclaimed storytellers Carol Cain and Lewis Powell. Seating is limited to 35 passengers. Halloween-themed costumes are encouraged!

Cooper Creek Cleanup

In recognition of Veteran’s Day, join us for a community cleanup at Cooper Creek in Columbus hosted by Chattahoochee Riverkeeper and Paws Humane Society and proudly sponsored by DaCosta Insurance Services and Humana.
