Hands-on, community science
Our River Rendezvous series provides a one-day snapshot of water quality in the Chattahoochee River Basin while engaging communities in hands-on environmental stewardship.
In 2013, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper partnered with West Atlanta Watershed Alliance to organize the first Westside River Rendezvous, the biggest one-day water sampling event ever held in the Proctor Creek watershed. Following the success of Westside River Rendezvous, CRK worked with a network of community partners to expand River Rendezvous to other parts of the Chattahoochee watershed.
These events are fun, family-friendly opportunities to demonstrate that we all have a hand in protecting our water resources.

Get involved
No previous water monitoring experience is needed! Participation in River Rendezvous is free and we provide all the necessary supplies. Volunteers gather for a brief training before heading out to nearby creeks (either on foot or by car) with their water sampling kits. After collecting their samples, volunteers return to the starting point for lunch while our staff and interns begin analyzing water quality in each sample.
