CRK defends Clean Water Rule, Show Your Love for the River, Volunteer on Feb. 24!
CRK defends federal Clean Water Rule
CRK has joined with 8 Southeastern water protection groups to challenge the U.S. EPA’s effort to suspend and ultimately eliminate the Clean Water Rule. The Clean Water Rule was enacted in 2015 after many years of scientific review and hundreds of thousands of public comments were accepted to clarify which lakes, rivers and streams meet the definition of “Waters of the U.S.” Only “Waters of the U.S.” are protected by the Clean Water Act, which is a bedrock law that CRK depends on to keep the Chattahoochee and its tributaries clean.
CRK is represented by Southern Environmental Law Center in this lawsuit, which challenges the legality of the agency’s rushed effort to suspend the rule. EPA pushed this suspension without allowing public input or sufficient analysis of the impact of its actions. We aim to hold EPA accountable and stop this dangerous effort to take away valuable protections for the Chattahoochee and all rivers and streams.

Show Your Love for the River
CRK staff and volunteers are on the water working to protect your right to enough clean water. And we love what we do!
This Valentine’s Day, please consider supplementing chocolate and flowers with a donation to CRK in honor of the one you love! We will send your special someone a message with your heartwarming tribute gift (we will include your name, but not the amount).
You are the heart behind our work. Our members, volunteers and donors provide the necessary funds and resources to stop sewer spills, educate children, remove trash, conserve water and so much more.
Thank you for sharing the love!
Volunteer on February 24
On Saturday, February 24, Trees Atlanta, Keep East Point Beautiful and CRK are teaming up to host a beautification day at Connally Nature Park. We will work together to clear trash and debris out of the forest and remove invasive plant species growing along the stream banks.
